Why a dead phone at the Molenheide gate costs you the weekend

Paaspop is a festival where the phone does most of the organising. Tickets, camping access and the cashless wristband top-up all live on your device, and the site in Schijndel sits on the edge of a small town where mobile networks have to carry tens of thousands of visitors at once. In 2019 the organiser reported a record of 90,000 visitors over three days. 10 On Friday afternoon, when the first queues form at the gates and the shuttle stop, a failed QR code or a page that will not load can mean standing aside while others walk in. The weekend also starts in late March, when cold drains batteries faster than a summer festival does. A local data plan installed at home means your ticket app, your maps and your messages work the moment you land at Eindhoven or Schiphol, instead of hunting for café Wi-Fi in Den Bosch while a shuttle leaves without you. The rest of this page covers the situations where being offline hurts most: the shuttle queue, the crowd at the mainstage, the late return, and the payment screen.

Finding the 's-Hertogenbosch shuttle stop in the dark

The late-night shuttles back to the station run on a published schedule, but stops and queue points can change from one edition to the next. Live maps and the organiser's travel page tell you where to stand. Without data you rely on following strangers through a dark field.

Meeting friends between seventeen stages

With so many themed stages and areas spread across the grounds, a group splits up within an hour. A shared live location in a messaging app is quicker than shouting a stage name over a bassline, and it works only if your phone has a signal in the crowd. 6

Topping up payment when the terrace queue is long

Bars and food stands move fast at Café de Oase, the raised terrace stage. A phone that cannot reach the top-up page leaves you waiting at the back of a line, so keep mobile data available for payment screens. 6

When Is Paaspop in 2027?

Paaspop 2027 runs from Friday 26 March to Sunday 28 March 2027 at De Molenheide in Schijndel. 1 The organiser's website confirms these three dates and states that further information will follow, so line-up, ticket prices and daily opening times for the 2027 edition are not yet published. 1 Festivalinfo lists the same dates and the same site. 2

The reason the name carries the word Pasen, Dutch for Easter, is that the festival is tied to the Christian calendar and moves every year. Easter Sunday falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the spring equinox, so it can land anywhere between late March and late April. Paaspop always takes the weekend that runs from Good Friday to Easter Sunday. In 2027 that gives an early edition: Easter Sunday is 28 March 2027, which makes 26 March 2027 Good Friday.

For comparison, the 2026 edition took place from Friday 3 April to Sunday 5 April 2026, so the 2027 festival comes about a week earlier in the calendar and will feel colder. 3 An earlier edition ran on 18, 19 and 20 April 2025. 4 The pattern is simple: if you are searching for Paaspop 2026 dates, they are 3 to 5 April 2026, and for 2027 they are 26 to 28 March 2027. 3

The organiser announced that ticket sales for 2027 start on 31 October at 11:00, with a WhatsApp notification option for people who want a reminder. 1 Dates may still be adjusted by the organiser, so treat the three days as expected until the official ticket page shows a full programme.

  • Friday 26 March 2027: Good Friday, first day, festival opens for the weekend. 1

  • Saturday 27 March 2027: the middle day and usually the one with the biggest crowd. 1

  • Sunday 28 March 2027: Easter Sunday and the last day, with a late return to the stations. 1

Tip: Clocks in the Netherlands move to summer time on the last Sunday of March, so check whether your phone updates automatically on the night of the festival weekend before setting an alarm for a shuttle.

How Much Is a Paaspop Weekend Ticket With Camping?

Paaspop tickets for 2027 have not yet been priced publicly, but the 2026 edition gives a reliable range: weekend tickets from 239 EUR as an early bird price, or 265 EUR with camping. 5 The organiser's director said the early prices were meant as a thank-you to loyal visitors and that the festival wants to stay accessible. 5

The 2026 early bird sale started on Saturday 25 October 2025, and a regular weekend and day ticket sale started on 4 November 2025 at higher prices if tickets remained. 5 For 2027, the organiser has announced a sale start on 31 October at 11:00. 1 A VIP option is mentioned on the official site, without a price. 1

Festivalinfo lists the 2026 range as 89 EUR to 275 EUR across all ticket types. 3 Day tickets in 2026 were reported as 89 EUR for Friday, 99 EUR for Saturday and 99 EUR for Sunday. 8 A Young and Free ticket for visitors up to 17 years old cost 185 EUR for the weekend, with camping an extra 10 EUR. 5 Festivalinfo also points to Ticketswap for resale of 2027 tickets. 2

  • Early bird weekend: the cheapest way in, if the organiser repeats the format. 5

  • Weekend with camping: a higher fixed price that covers a tent pitch on the camping site. 5

  • Day ticket: useful if you only want one headliner. 8

  • Young and Free: for under-18s, weekend or weekend plus camping. 5

  • VIP: a separate ticket page without a published price. 1

The mistake to avoid is buying from an unofficial seller on social media. Use the official ticket page from paaspop.nl or a resale platform that reissues the barcode, because a screenshot that was already shared will not scan twice.

Note: The organiser, not GoHub, sets prices. Check the official page for the 2027 price table before you budget.

How Do You Get From 's-Hertogenbosch Station to the Molenheide Site?

The most direct public route to Paaspop is a train to 's-Hertogenbosch, locally called Den Bosch, then the festival shuttle bus to the grounds in Schijndel. Shuttle buses have run from 's-Hertogenbosch station throughout the festival weekend. 2 For 2025, a shuttle from either 's-Hertogenbosch or Eindhoven station cost 13.50 EUR each way. 4

The 2025 schedule had buses every 30 minutes from 13:00 to 19:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, then less often between 19:00 and 23:00. 4 Return buses from the site to the stations ran between 22:30 and 02:15 on Friday and Sunday, and until 03:15 on Sunday. 4 On Monday morning, buses to the stations ran between 09:00 and 13:00 for campers going home. 4 The 2027 timetable will be published by the organiser, so treat these as a guide to the pattern.

By car, the road from Utrecht or Amsterdam is the A2 towards 's-Hertogenbosch, then the exit for Schijndel and Sint-Michielsgestel. From Tilburg or Breda it is the A65 towards 's-Hertogenbosch and the same exit. 2 In 2025 the official parking plan used Autotron in Rosmalen at 15 EUR per ticket, with a free shuttle taking about 20 minutes. 4 A meadow next to the site also took cars. 4

If you miss the last shuttle, the public bus stop at Zwembadweg in Schijndel is about a 10-minute walk from the festival. 2 Two guarded bicycle parks, one on Nonnenbos in the north and one on Dopheiweg in the south, served riders in 2025. 4

  • Fly in: Schiphol or Eindhoven, then rail to Den Bosch.

  • Train: to 's-Hertogenbosch, then the shuttle.

  • Car: A2 or A65, exit Schijndel, follow the Paaspop signs. 2

  • Bike: a guarded bike park on either side of Schijndel. 4

Tip: Screenshot the Zwembadweg stop and the shuttle timetable before the signal drops in the crowd.

Which Stages Make Up the Paaspop Grounds at De Molenheide?

The Paaspop grounds at De Molenheide are laid out as a collection of themed stages and areas, not a single big arena. In 2026 the organiser described seventeen stages and areas, each with its own decoration, atmosphere and identity, and more than 350 acts. 6 That count is for the previous edition, so the 2027 layout may change.

The Apollo is the mainstage. In 2026 the pop singer Nona was announced for the Friday afternoon there. 6 Café de Oase, hosted by Heineken, is an outdoor stage on a raised terrace with a rooftop lounge that overlooks the grounds, with a line-up in 2026 that mixed Dutch live acts such as Blue Grass Boogiemen and De Bankdirecteuren. 6 The terrace is a good place to take a break from the mainstage and still hear music.

The Paaspop crowd is built around Dutch-language pop and a wide mix of genres. The 2026 line-up included Sean Paul, Pendulum, Tom Odell, Acda en de Munnik, Di-rect, De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig, K3, Scooter, Kaarijaa, Racoon and Kraantje Pappie. 3 The Sunday report from that edition lists artists including Son Mieux, S10, Merol, Pommelien Thijs and Tom Smith. 11 For 2027, Festivalinfo reports no confirmed artists yet. 2

The organiser has not published a 2027 map. Based on how the festival works, the three main habits are:

  • Spend the afternoon on the smaller stages, where acts are less crowded.

  • Move towards the mainstage an hour before your headliner, because walking paths fill up.

  • Leave Sunday evening early if you want a seat on the late shuttle.

Tip: Pick three priority acts per day and plan the walk between them; with this many stages the timetable overlaps often.

How Cold Is Late March at the Paaspop Site?

Late March in Noord-Brabant is cold enough for coats, hats and rain protection, even if the afternoon is sunny. The Dutch weather service KNMI reported that March 2021 in De Bilt averaged 6.4 degrees C, against a long-term average of 6.5 degrees C. 9 In March 2018 the average was 4.7 degrees C against a normal 6.2 degrees C. 12 These two months show that the festival can fall in a mild week or in a clearly cold one, and nights are always colder than the afternoon.

At the 2026 edition on 3 to 5 April, a forecast service gave about 13 degrees C and light rain for Friday, about 16 degrees C for Saturday, and about 14 degrees C with light rain for Sunday. 3 A review of the 2026 Saturday described sunny weather and a good party mood. 11 Because the 2027 edition falls about a week earlier in the year, plan for slightly lower temperatures than that.

On a muddy field the choice of shoes matters more than the outfit. The site is grass and paths, and after rain the paths turn soft. Campers feel the cold most between midnight and sunrise.

  • Best arrival time: Friday afternoon, to pitch a tent in daylight and walk the grounds before the crowd.

  • Hardest day for the weather: the day with rain, because queues and shuttle stops are outside.

  • Daylight: the clocks change on the last Sunday of March, which shifts the evening light.

Note: No official weather forecast exists this far ahead; check the Dutch forecast service a few days before you leave.

Where Do You Sleep When Paaspop Fills Schijndel in March?

There are three realistic options: the Paaspop camping area, a B&B or hotel around Schijndel, and a room in 's-Hertogenbosch with a shuttle ride. The festival has its own camping site with a weekend ticket option; in 2026 a weekend ticket with camping cost 265 EUR as an early bird, against 239 EUR without camping. 5 Camping removes the late-night transport problem, because the tent is on or next to the site.

For the 2027 edition, the official site shows a map of hotels and B&Bs near Schijndel for the first festival day on 26 March, without naming specific options. 2 Small places in Noord-Brabant have few rooms, so the nearest ones fill first. Book as soon as you hold a ticket, and accept that a bed in 's-Hertogenbosch means a shuttle ride or a taxi after the show.

A bed in Den Bosch is the comfortable middle ground. You can walk through the old town for dinner on Friday evening, then take a shuttle in the afternoon. Eindhoven works too, since shuttles served both stations in 2025. 4

  • Camping: the closest option, and the coldest in March.
  • Schijndel B&B: short walk or short bus ride, limited rooms.
  • 's-Hertogenbosch: more choice, a station and a shuttle. 4
  • Eindhoven: a bigger city with more rooms, plus shuttle access. 4

Tip: On camping nights, bring a sleeping mat with insulation and a sleeping bag rated for near freezing; the ground is the coldest part.

Do not name hotels from this page; compare them on a booking site and read the latest reviews for noise and distance.

What Happens to Your Phone Signal Inside the Molenheide Crowd?

Mobile networks in the Netherlands are strong in towns, but a field that holds tens of thousands of people for three days is a different test. In 2019 the organiser reported 90,000 visitors over three days. 10 That is a lot of phones in a small place, and speeds fall when the mainstage crowd all posts at once.

A local data plan works the moment you land, so you do not queue for a SIM card or pay roaming fees on a home plan. If you want a local data plan for the trip, check options before you travel. Install it at home on Wi-Fi, check that your phone supports it, and keep your home line as a secondary number if you still need calls. What you need data for at Paaspop is short and practical:

  • Ticket QR code and camping confirmation.

  • Shuttle timetable and the map to the Zwembadweg stop. 2

  • Messaging with your group between stages.

  • Train times for the return to the airport.

  • Payment screens when topping up a wristband.

Download the festival timetable and offline maps before you go, because a spotty signal in the crowd is the rule at big events. Put the phone on low-power mode on Saturday night and carry a small power bank, since cold shortens battery life.

Tip: Switch your phone to airplane mode with Wi-Fi off between sets if you are short on battery; reconnect only when you need the shuttle map.

Can Children Go to Paaspop on Easter Weekend?

Paaspop welcomes families, and the Dutch family-events guide Kidsproof describes the audience as families with children and teenagers. 7 Older children enjoy the music and the shows, while younger children can entertain themselves with the things to discover on the grounds, such as colourful performances, creative acts and street theatre. 7 The organiser offers a Young and Free ticket for visitors up to 17 years old. 5

The main risk for children is not the music but the crowd and the cold. A child under ten can lose a parent in seconds in the mainstage crowd, so agree on a meeting point before you enter and write a phone number on a wristband. Ear protection for small ears is not optional at a big stage. Late March nights are cold, so a child needs thermal layers and a hat.

For older relatives, the festival is a long walk on soft ground. The shuttle from 's-Hertogenbosch cuts out the last stretch of the journey, and a seat at a terrace stage such as Café de Oase gives a place to rest while still hearing music. 6 Visit during the afternoon, when queues are shortest, and leave before the late crowd heads for the buses.

  • Under-18s: the Young and Free ticket is the cheaper route. 5

  • Meeting point: agree on one near a landmark, not a stage.

  • Ear protection: bring child-sized earmuffs.

  • Rest breaks: the terrace stage is the quiet corner. 6

Tip: Day tickets suit a family better than a full weekend with a tent. 8

What Should You Pack for a Cold Easter Weekend on a Festival Field?

Pack for a cold spring weekend in Noord-Brabant, not a summer festival. Waterproof boots, a rain jacket and layers beat any costume, because the site is grass and paths that turn soft in rain, and the temperatures in late March can be only a few degrees above freezing at night. 9

For a day visit the essentials are small. For a camping weekend the list grows. Keep in mind that bag rules and prohibited items are set by the organiser and can change, so check the official practical information page before packing.

  • Boots: waterproof, broken in.

  • Jacket and poncho: a light rain layer that fits over a coat.

  • Thermal layer: for the late shuttle queue.

  • Sleeping bag and mat: rated for near freezing, if you camp.

  • Power bank and charging cable: the cold drains batteries.

  • Earplugs: for sleeping and for the mainstage.

  • Reusable bottle: if allowed at the entrance.

  • Printed or offline ticket: a backup in case the phone dies.

Dutch festival habits help here: people go in layers and carry little. Cash is rarely needed, since the festival uses cashless payments for most food and drink stands; check the practical page to learn whether a wristband top-up is used in 2027. 1

Tip: Pack a small dry bag for your phone, because wet mud and rain are the most common causes of phone damage at a field festival.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, the festival ends on Easter Sunday. Paaspop 2027 runs from Friday 26 March to Sunday 28 March 2027, and Easter Sunday is 28 March 2027, so the last day is on Easter itself. 1 The first day falls on Good Friday. Dates are announced by the organiser, who also says more information will follow on the official site. 1

The 2026 edition ran from Friday 3 April to Sunday 5 April 2026 at De Molenheide in Schijndel. 3 The 2025 edition ran on 18, 19 and 20 April 2025. 4 The date moves each year because it follows Easter, which is why the 2027 edition falls in late March instead. 1

Shuttle buses have run from 's-Hertogenbosch station throughout the festival weekend, and the same arrangement is expected but not yet confirmed for 2027. 2 In 2025 a shuttle from 's-Hertogenbosch or Eindhoven station cost 13.50 EUR each way. 4 Check the organiser's page for the 2027 timetable and prices.

The nearest public bus stop is Zwembadweg in Schijndel, about a 10-minute walk from the festival. 2 It is the fallback if you miss the late shuttle from the site. Walk there with a charged phone and a map, because the area outside the grounds is quiet and poorly lit at night.

Yes, the organiser sells a Young and Free ticket for visitors up to 17 years old. In 2026 the weekend ticket cost 185 EUR, with camping an extra 10 EUR. 5 Kidsproof describes the audience as families with children and teenagers, with older children enjoying the music and younger ones the performances. 7

A few gigabytes cover tickets, maps, messaging and payment screens for three days, but no official figure exists. If you do not have roaming, a local data plan installed before you travel keeps your ticket QR code and shuttle map available when the mainstage crowd overloads the network.
