The organiser has posted the dates as #VL27, but the lineup, ticket prices and venue have not been published yet 1 3. This guide covers the two-day abono, Metro Line 9, bag rules, night weather and signal at the stadium.

Highlights

  • Two days of rock en espanol, ska and indie at Foro Sol
  • Metro Line 9 stops at Ciudad Deportiva, close to Gate 6
  • Five stages, plus lucha libre rings and a stand-up comedy tent
  • Bags above 30 x 30 cm, umbrellas and outside drinks are refused
  • Mexico City sits high in the Valley of Mexico, so nights get cold after dark
  • Programmes run until 02:00, after Metro Line 9 has closed

Why Does a Flat Battery at Gate 6 Cost You the Whole Night?

Vive Latino packs about 160,000 people into the stadium over two days, according to local press on the 2026 edition 1. Most of them arrive within the same two hours, after the doors open at 13:00 7. The queue at Gate 6 moves only as fast as the people at the front can pull up a ticket and a photo ID, so a phone with no signal and a dying battery stops you at the very first step.

The rest of the day leans on the phone just as heavily. Five stages run in parallel, the set times shift when a band is added or cancelled, and the schedule you saved weeks ago may already be out of date 6. A weak connection in the crowd means missing the headliner you travelled for, because you did not see the update about a stage swap or a late start.

Getting out is the hard part. Metro Line 9 closes earlier than the music does, and ride apps need data to find you among tens of thousands of other people at 02:00. Losing the connection at that point leaves you walking along Viaducto Río de la Piedad in the dark. Plan for coverage before you land, not once you are standing in the queue.

### Finding Friends Among Vive Latino's Stages and Tents {#finding-friends-stages} Between Two Carpas and Three Stages?

In 2026 the festival ran five stages, including Carpa Little Caesars and Carpa Intolerante, whose location differed from the main stages 6. A group that splits at 17:00 to see different bands often cannot regroup by walking. Share a live location pin with at least one friend before the doors open.

Why Is the Ride Home at 02:00 Booked on a Phone?

The 2026 edition kept Metro Line 9 open until 01:00, with the last trains leaving Pantitlán and Tacubaya at 00:30 10. With music running until 02:00 on both days, anyone who stays for the final headliner depends on a ride app and a working data plan 7.

Why Does the Official Stream Matter if You Are Already There?

The 2026 festival streamed all three signals on the Amazon Music app, Prime Video and Twitch 8. When two headliners clash, many fans watch one in the stadium and check the other on their phone. That only works with a stable connection.

When Is Vive Latino in 2027?

Vive Latino 2027 is reported for Saturday, March 13 and Sunday, March 14, 2027, in Mexico City 1. The date comes from the organiser's #VL27 post on social media, repeated by Uno TV, Récord and Sopitas 1 2 3. Because the official site only shows navigation and legal links at the moment, treat the weekend as likely but not yet confirmed by Ocesa 16.

The festival moves between March and April depending on the year, and it has run yearly since 1998, apart from 1999 and 2002 14. The 2026 edition took place on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the same stadium 6. If you search for Vive Latino 2026, those are the dates to answer with. Press counted about 160,000 people across the two days in 2026 1.

The festival started in 1998 as the Festival Iberoamericano de Cultura Musical, organised by Ocesa, and the idea was to put big names and new bands from across Ibero-America on one bill 14. Genres run from rock en espanol and indie to ska, reggae and hip hop, with a few international headliners 14. Lineup rumours online at the moment, such as Café Tacuba, Caifanes, Zoé and Molotov, are not confirmed 1.

For planning, use these dates and milestones:

  • Reported festival weekend: March 13 and 14, 2027 1

  • Lineup: not announced yet; the 2026 lineup was revealed in mid-October 2025 1

  • First-phase sale in the last cycle: presale on October 17 and general sale on October 18, 2025 4

  • Second phase last cycle: presale on December 12 and general sale on December 13, 2025 5

Tip: Do not book non-refundable flights on the date rumour alone. Wait for the lineup and the Ticketmaster page to appear, or choose flights with free changes, because the venue for 2027 is still listed as unconfirmed by the press 1.

What Does the Two-Day Abono Cost at Vive Latino?

Vive Latino sells a single abono that covers both days, and tickets are sold through Ticketmaster 4 16. The ticketing site belongs with the sources, not in this article, so check the festival's own social accounts for the live link when sales open. Prices for 2027 have not been published, so the figures below are last edition's reference only.

The general abono for 2026 started from 3,000 MXN plus service fees in the first phase 4. In the second phase the general abono rose to 3,650 MXN before fees 5. That second phase also listed the Banamex Platino abono at 5,670 MXN and the south and north boxes abono at 7,100 MXN 5. Higher tiers only had one sale phase, while the general abono went through three 4.

Presale was limited to Banamex clients in the last cycle, with general sale opening a day later at 14:00 Mexico City time 4 5. Plan to be logged in to Ticketmaster before 14:00 and expect a queue, because the cheapest phase has the lowest prices and the highest demand.

Practical points on entry and age:

  • Children aged 3 and over need their own ticket, and minors must stay with an adult 7.

  • There is no children's area inside the stadium 7.

  • Per-day tickets were not listed in the 2026 articles I found, so assume the abono is the product 5.

  • Service fees are added at checkout on top of the listed prices 4 5.

Note: If your travel dates are flexible, buy in phase one. Phase one in 2026 was 650 MXN cheaper than phase two for the same general abono, using the figures above 4 5.

How Do You Reach Gate 6 From Ciudad Deportiva Station?

The easiest way to reach Vive Latino is Metro Line 9 to Ciudad Deportiva, which drops you next to Gate 6 of Estadio GNP Seguros 7 9. Velódromo, the next station on the same line, also serves the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez side of the site 13. Estadio GNP Seguros sits at Viaducto Río de la Piedad, in the Iztacalco borough, at 19.404889, -99.095944 13.

From Mexico City International Airport, take Metro Line 5, which serves the terminal, and change at Pantitlán onto Line 9 15. Trains toward Tacubaya stop at Puebla and Ciudad Deportiva, both near Gate 6 7. Trolebús Line 2 between Pantitlán and Chapultepec also stops at Ciudad Deportiva 7. Metrobús Line 2 serves the alternative Gate 15: get off at UPIICSA and walk along Eje 3 Sur Añil, or at Iztacalco and walk along Calle Resina 7.

Cars were allowed in 2026 and paid 550 MXN to enter the Autódromo parking lots 7. Finding a space around the venue could take up to 50 minutes, and the press warned against informal street parking because of overcharging and theft 12. Stadium lots near Gates 7, 8, 9 and 15 and the Palacio de los Deportes lot fill early 9.

For the return, Metro Line 9 ran to 01:00 in 2026, with the last trains leaving Pantitlán and Tacubaya at 00:30 10. The Metro also sent empty trains to Puebla, Ciudad Deportiva and Velódromo at peak hours to ease boarding 11. Music ended at 02:00, so a ride app or a late taxi is part of the plan.

If you arrive from the city centre, expect the Line 9 platforms at Pantitlán and Puebla to be the pinch points on festival afternoons, because that is where passengers from several lines funnel into the same trains. Boarding at Pantitlán, the start of the line, gives you a better chance of a seat than waiting at a middle station. Ride apps and taxis also work, but the approach roads around Viaducto Río de la Piedad slow down sharply once the gates open, so a Metro ride is often faster than a car over the last few kilometres. Carry some coins or a card for the Metro fare, and keep your phone zipped away on crowded platforms.

Tip: Do not stand at the Gate 6 exit to hail a ride at 02:00. Walk several blocks away from the stadium before opening the app, because pickup pins near the gates get crowded and drivers cancel.

How Do the Five Stages Split the Day From 13:00 to 02:00?

Vive Latino spreads about 13 hours of music across five stages, and the biggest names always close the main stage near midnight. The 2026 festival opened its doors at 13:00, started music at 13:40 and ran until 02:00 on both days 6 7. The stages were named after sponsors: Escenario Amazon Music, Escenario Amazon, Escenario Telcel, Carpa Little Caesars and Carpa Intolerante 6.

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, Lenny Kravitz played the Amazon Music stage at 21:40, followed by La Maldita Vecindad at 00:05, while John Fogerty played the Amazon stage at 21:05 6. On Sunday, March 15, 2026, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs closed the Amazon Music stage at 21:40, The Smashing Pumpkins played the Amazon stage at 23:05, and Steve Aoki played at 00:05 after Moby cancelled 6. These times are history; the 2027 timetable will arrive close to the festival dates.

Beyond bands, the 2026 programme added daytime lucha libre, with a six-man match on Sunday as the main event 6. Casa Comedy ran stand-up from 14:20 on both days, with names such as Daniel Sosa and Alexa Zuart 6. The Carpa Intolerante lineup leaned toward ska, punk and Latin alternative, and the 2026 edition mixed small rising bands with reunions 6.

How to use the day:

  • Arrive by 14:00 if you want the early Telcel and Carpa slots, which are usually the quietest and best for discovery.

  • Between 18:00 and 21:00 the stage-to-stage crowd peaks, so cross the field early rather than at the last song.

  • For the closers on the main stage, stand near the sound desk, not at the barrier, to see the show with less crushing.

  • Check the festival's own schedule post the week before; 2026 changed when Moby cancelled 6.

A practical habit is to write down three priority sets per day and treat everything else as flexible. Walking between the main stages and the two tents takes longer than it looks on a map once the field is full, so build in a margin of ten minutes or more for each move. Water and food queues grow in the half hour before each headliner, which is the best moment to refill your thermos or eat something instead of waiting for the first notes. The lucha libre and comedy programmes sit in the daytime window, which makes them the natural rest between two loud blocks of music.

Tip: Headliners overlap in the final hours, so decide ahead which midnight act you will see in full and which you will leave early.

How Cold Does Foro Sol Get After Dark at 2,240 Metres?

Mexico City sits at 2,240 m, and in March the mean daily high is 26.1 °C while the mean daily low is 11.1 °C 15. That 15-degree swing means a sunny T-shirt afternoon at 14:00 turns into a jacket night by 23:00. March is the dry season: monthly rainfall averages about 11.8 mm, with the rainy season running from May to October 15.

Rain is still possible. A 2026 weather forecast for the festival flagged light rain in the afternoon and evening, especially between 18:00 and 21:00 8. Umbrellas are banned inside the stadium, so a light rain jacket is the right answer 8. UnoTV also advised a sweater or jacket because the city's weather can change fast 7.

The altitude affects people who arrive from the coast. Less oxygen and strong sun make thirst and tiredness hit sooner, especially in a crowd that dances for 12 hours. The 2026 rules allowed sunscreen up to 100 ml and empty plastic thermoses, which you can fill inside 7.

Best arrival strategy:

  • Land at least one full day before the festival to adjust to the altitude.

  • Wear sunscreen and a hat at 14:00; the open field has little shade.

  • Carry one layer in your small bag, since bags up to 30 x 30 cm were accepted in 2026 7.

  • Crowd levels peak around 21:00 on Saturday and Sunday, when the biggest headliners start.

Dress in layers you can tie around your waist: a T-shirt for the afternoon sun, a hoodie or light jacket for the night, and closed shoes, because the field floor gets crowded and stepped on. Many regulars wear a cap in the afternoon and swap it for a beanie after sunset. Sandals and heavy boots both cause trouble over twelve hours on your feet, so comfortable trainers are the usual choice.

Tip: Leave the umbrella at the hotel and buy a cheap rain poncho outside the Metro station instead, because umbrellas are refused at the gate 8.

Which Neighbourhoods Suit a 02:00 Finish at Foro Sol?

The best base for Vive Latino is near the Metro Line 9 corridor, or somewhere a short ride away, because you will come home after 02:00. The stadium is in Iztacalco, near the airport, and it sits inside the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez 13. Hotels and rentals in that east side are practical but lack nightlife and restaurants.

Several areas work for different budgets and styles:

  • Near the airport and Viaducto: short, cheap rides to the stadium and easy flights, but few places to eat after the festival.

  • Colonia Roma and Condesa: the classic base for restaurants, bars and cafés, a ride across town to Iztacalco that varies with traffic.

  • Centro Histórico: closest to the Metro network and the museums; good for a combined trip, but noisy on weekends.

  • Polanco and Juárez: quieter and more business-style hotels, with plenty of taxis and ride-app coverage at night.

Book early. Mexico City hotels near the stadium have no published sell-out date, but the festival fills rooms in the nearest districts once the lineup is announced, so a cancellable booking made when the dates are confirmed is the safest approach. No sourced room-rate range exists yet, so check current prices for March 12 to 15, 2027, on a booking platform.

Since Metro Line 9 closes around 01:00 on festival weekends and you will leave after 02:00, pick a place where a ride app can reach you quickly, not one that depends on public transport 10. Lodging near Line 9 stations is useful only for the walk to the gate in the afternoon.

Tip: Share your hotel location with a trusted friend before you leave, and save its address in an offline map; signal drops when the whole stadium leaves at once.

### Phone Signal at Foro Sol: Crowds and Network Strain {#phone-signal-foro-sol} Among Tens of Thousands at Foro Sol?

Phone signal is weakest exactly where you need it: at the gates around 13:00 and on the Metro platforms at 01:00. Estadio GNP Seguros holds about 65,000 people for concerts 13. Local press counted about 160,000 across the two days in 2026 1. When most of them post videos at once, networks slow down, and maps, ride apps and ticket apps all compete for the same cells.

Prepare before you fly. A travel eSIM installed at home lets you land in Mexico City with data active, open a ride app at the airport and use maps on the Metro without hunting for a shop. You can check plan options on the Mexico eSIM page. Keep the plan active on your main phone so your tickets and photo ID photos are available offline as backups.

Settings that help at the venue:

  • Download an offline map of Iztacalco, Gate 6 and the Line 9 route at the hotel.
  • Screenshot your ticket QR code and the Ticketmaster order number in case the app loads slowly.
  • Share live location with your group before entering, since Wi-Fi at the stadium is not something to rely on.
  • Turn on low-power mode after 18:00; a full day of photos, maps and messaging drains the battery.

The official stream carried all three signals on Amazon Music, Prime Video and Twitch in 2026, which you can also use as backup if you wait at a gate 8. A phone with a power bank (check size rules at the gate) keeps you reachable. Do not count on charging stations: the 2026 guides did not list any 7 9.

Frequently asked questions

Press reports say Vive Latino 2027 will take place on Saturday, March 13 and Sunday, March 14, 2027, after the organiser posted the dates as #VL27 1. The venue has not been officially confirmed, although recent editions used Estadio GNP Seguros, formerly Foro Sol 1. Wait for the lineup and the Ticketmaster page before booking flights or hotels.

Umbrellas are banned, and bags above 30 x 30 cm were refused in 2026 7 8. Small bags and single-compartment backpacks up to that size were accepted 7. Outside food and drinks, cans, glass, chairs, blankets, professional cameras and aerosols were also on the list, so pack a light rain jacket instead and carry only what fits in a small bag 7.

Only for part of the night. In 2026, Metro Line 9 stayed open until 01:00, with the last trains leaving Pantitlán and Tacubaya at 00:30 10. The music itself ran until 02:00, so anyone who stays for the final act needs a ride app or taxi 7. Check the Metro's announcement on the week of the festival.

Yes, the festival is sold as an abono, a pass that covers both days, and Ticketmaster is the sales channel 4 16. The 2026 articles listed only abono prices and no single-day option, with the general abono starting from 3,000 MXN plus fees 4 5. If the 2027 sales page changes this, the festival's social accounts will say so first.

Children aged 3 and over need their own ticket, and minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times 7. The stadium has no special children's area 7. Earplugs are allowed inside, which matters for young ears during the loud night sets 7. Families usually do best arriving in the afternoon and leaving before the late headliners.

Yes, installing it at home is easier than buying a SIM at the airport, and it keeps your normal number reachable for messages. Download the profile on Wi-Fi, activate it after landing at Mexico City International Airport, and test maps and a ride app before the festival. Details on plans are on the Mexico eSIM page.
